Wide receiver Randall Cobb suffered a fractured fibula in Green Bay's 19-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens and will miss 6-8 weeks, a source said Monday.
The third-year wide receiver left Sunday's game in the first half after absorbing a low tackle from Baltimore's Matt Elam. He later returned on crutches. The source indicated that Cobb nearly broke the fibula entirely on the play.
HC Mike McCarthy only said Cobb would miss “multiple weeks,” and didn't go into any other details today. We learned last night it wouldn't be season-ending, but for fantasy owners this is a big blow. Six weeks brings him back for Week 13, which is right as fantasy playoffs are about to begin, and keep in mind he'll need to get into game shape as well. It's a long time to carry him as roster sports get more valuable as the season goes. James Jones, on the other hand, has a chance to play this week opposite Jordy Nelson. Either way, Jarrett Boykin looks like he'll at least be a WR3, but the Pack could give the ball more to RB Eddie Lacy, who carried it 23 times last week.
