Eagles QB Nick Foles has gotten fast.
OK, not fast.
But faster. Definitely a lot faster. And – more importantly – he’s become an effective situational runner, which is crucial in Chip Kelly’s offense.
Maybe the biggest surprise of all has been the way Nick Foles has helped himself as a ball carrier.
He’s slow. But he keeps making plays with his feet.
Is he deceptively fast?
“I’d say deceptively crafty,” Foles said. “That’d be more like it.”
Foles' time at the combine was 5.14, slower than offensive linemen. But he's actually looked much better in that department this year in his time on the field. Foles won't win a lot of foot races but knows when to take off. He has a rushing TD against Tampa and last week took off 8 times for 38 yards last week. In his last three games he has 14 rushes for 77 yards.
