Panthers expecting to release Steve Smith

Unable to find a trade partner, the Panthers will release WR Steve L Smith today, officially ending his 13-year career with the club.

Fantasy Impact:

Smith's cap number is too much for the Panthers to swallow, though the team is not in a position to be throwing away talent at wideout. Smith is past his prime, but he can still play and he won't have a problem finding a new team assuming the price tag is reasonable.

Fantasy Impact:

This puts Schoonmaker more or less in TE streaming consideration, but there are far better options this week, which puts him low on the totem pole.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith officially Out for Week 12

Eagles ruled out WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) for Sunday against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a bit of a crapshoot as to who the "WR2" on the offense will be, but now that he's ruled out, Brown and Goedert should get a nice boost to their bottom line. That would lock Goedert into a no-doubt TE1 role in Week 12.
