Tony Romo looks to be ahead of schedule

The Cowboys continue to insist there are no worries when it comes to Tony Romo’s rehabilitation from back surgery for a herniated disk.

“He is ahead of where we expected him to be,’’ owner Jerry Jones said.

Fantasy Impact:

The plan is for Romo to take part in organized team activities in at least a limited capacity, something he was unable to do last year after having a cyst removed from a different area of his back. Those sessions begin April 21. Jones added that Romo is performing the throwing motion, but has yet to actually throw. Still, things look good and we have Romo ranked as a higher-end QB2 at this point in the offseason. Things look a little brighter with new passing coordinator Scott Linehan coming over from Detroit, too. Romo could be a nice, later-round grab in fantasy drafts.
