Running back Frank Gore has one year remaining on his contract, but 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh believes the nine-year veteran has a future well beyond this season.

“I really think Frank has three more good years,” Harbaugh said Wednesday at the NFL owners meetings. “I truly believe that. But we’re in a game of taking it one year at a time.”

Fantasy Impact:

As the story points out, Gore rushed for 1,128 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He is the 49ers’ all-time leading rusher with 9,967 yards. He has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in seven of his nine NFL seasons. The nine-year veteran has played in all 16 games and eclipsed 250 carries and 1,100 yards all three seasons since Harbaugh took over as head coach in 2011. He's had a lot of work the last three years so it may be a bit of a stretch for him to keep up this pace.
