Ellington was limited in Thursday’s practice with a foot injury. Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 reports that Ellington has been bothered by foot trouble over the last week and that he “irritated” the issue during Thursday’s session.
Jurecki adds that Ellington went for an MRI on Thursday as well, which may just be about an abundance of that aforementioned caution but it’s never a great development when your starting running back needs to have tests done on either of his feet.
Jonathan Dwyer appears to be the proper handcuff for Ellington, whose status should be updated today. Hopefully the MRI was precautionary and he's just experiencing some soreness in the foot. It's worth noting that Ellington had toe and ankle surgery while in college, which is one reason he was drafted in the 6th round.
