The Cardinals still don’t know who their starting quarterback will be on Sunday, but it apparently won’t be third-stringer Logan Thomas.
Arizona’s second-string quarterback Drew Stanton has been cleared through the league’s concussion protocol, according to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910.
That means Stanton will start unless Carson Palmer, who is receiving treatment for nerve damage in his arm, can be cleared to go. The Cardinals have said Palmer is getting better, but the team isn’t sure that he’ll be ready to play on Sunday against Washington.
By process of elimination, we may eventually have a starter for the Cards at QB this week. As recently as Friday afternoon, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he had no idea if Thomas, Stanton or Palmer would be his starter. But it looks like it’s now down to a game-time decision between Palmer and Stanton. We'd much rather see a healthy Palmer in there in a great matchup vs. Washington.
