Sunday's match-up with the Steelers represents a good opportunity to get the deep-passing game on track. Pittsburgh has allowed four touchdown passes from outside the red zone in the last three games, and cornerback Cortez Allen was targeted for two long touchdowns last week against the Indianapolis Colts. Veteran cornerback Ike Taylor has already been ruled out with an arm injury.
"Sometimes, it comes in bunches," Ravens WR Torrey Smith said. "All it takes is one, and we're just waiting on that opportunity."
Smith's up and down season continues. He posted a goose egg in Week 8 after catching touchdowns in three of his previous four games. He isn't seeing as many targets as in years past, and his targets are typically of the low percentage/high yield variety, so he's going to be a boom or bust pick in any given week. The Steelers have had their issues defending the long ball this season, so Smith may make a big play or two in Week 9.
