Week 15 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Wednesday
Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (right shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday. Bortles should continue to play through the injury.
Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday. No worries here.
Eagles QB Nick Foles (collarbone) was ruled out for Week 15. Foles remains out, but is inching closer to a return. Mark Sanchez is an attractive start in a good matchup against the Cowboys. He is the #8 fantasy QB since taking over as the starter in Week 10.
Giants QB Eli Manning (back) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Manning’s injury is not believed to be serious.
Redskins QB Colt McCoy (neck) took limited practice reps Wednesday. McCoy’s status is unknown but the limited participation is encouraging. He’s expected to start if healthy this week.
Titans QB Zach Mettenberger (right shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. Jake Locker is going to get the start and he’s a worthwhile streaming option for desperate owners given a favorable matchup against the Jets.
Panthers QB Cam Newton (back) did not practice Wednesday. Newton has been released from the hospital after a car accident, but it’s highly doubtful that he’ll play in Week 15. Derek Anderson will draw the start and is probably the better pocket passer. This means that we don’t see this situation as a downgrade for Kelvin Benjamin or Greg Olsen. They both produced big fantasy lines in Week 1 when Anderson started against the Bucs.
