Case Keenum is returning to the Texans.
Keenum, the former record-breaking University of Houston quarterback who was on St. Louis’ practice squad, will be signed and added to the Texans’ active roster for the last two games against Baltimore and Jacksonville at NRG Stadium.
Because Ryan Fitzpatrick (leg) and Tom Savage (knee) were injured in Sunday’s 17-10 loss at Indianapolis, the Texans are in the market for at least one quarterback and possibly two to join recently signed free-agent Thad Lewis. Fitzpatrick’s season is over with the broken leg. If Savage suffered extensive damage to his knee, as many suspect, Lewis and Keenum should be active against the Ravens. Savage is going to have an MRI Monday to determine the extent to his injury. Neither really presents a great fantasy outlook.
