NFL Media's Desmond Purnell was told by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a broken bone in his right foot in Dallas' 27-26 win over the Giants on Sunday night.
Garrett confirmed the bone break and said that Bryant will undergo surgery. Garrett said the team expects Bryant to miss four to six weeks.
It's a huge blow to both Bryant and the Cowboys, but if owners can navigate the next month or so without him, he should be back for the stretch run. The Cowboys have a Week 6 bye, so he'll likely be out until Week 7 at the earliest as there probably isn't enough time for his foot to heal prior to Week 5. In the meantime, both Terrance Williams (WR2/WR3) and Cole Beasley (WR3 in PPR) will get a bump, and Jason Witten is bound to see a few more targets at tight end. Devin Street will likely come in for three-WR sets. It's a downgrade for Tony Romo, but he'll still be startable in good matchups.
