Broncos beat writer Troy E. Renck: C.J. Anderson is a tough guy. He's not going to surrender to an injury. But a toe issue can't be ignored with a running back. It does not appear serious. But Anderson's less than 100 percent on this short week, logic says he will lose some carries to Ronnie Hillman based on how Hillman has played in the preseason and against the Ravens. Coach Gary Kubiak planned to give Hillman carries entering the season. Nothing has changed. The amount, though, could increase if Anderson is slowed.
We currently project Anderson for 14 carries and Hillman for nine, but the situation is fluid. We'll continue to monitor the situation. Anderson owners should be sure to check back as we get closer to kickoff.
