Travis Benjamin showcases versatility

Entering the season, the Browns were looking for someone to step up and become an offensive playmaker. Travis Benjamin has been that guy.

The speedy wide receiver racked up 269 total yards and three touchdowns — two receptions and a punt return — to help propel Cleveland past Tennessee 28-14 at FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday.

Benjamin caught three passes for 115 yards — a career high — to lead all receivers. He returned six punts for 154 yards, which is the third-highest total in Browns history behind Eric Metcalf (166) and his own record of 179 set Oct. 3, 2013. He also became the first NFL player with four 50-plus-yard touchdowns in the first two games of the season since Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown in 1963.

Fantasy Impact:

Benjamin is the first Browns player to record two receiving scores and a punt return touchdown in the same game and the first NFL player to do so since St. Louis’ Tavon Austin on Nov. 10, 2013. Benjamin came 47 yards shy of Josh Cribbs’ all-purpose yards record of 316 set Dec. 20, 2009. The Browns offense isn't a model of consistency so Benjamin will have his risks, but he started showing these flashes last year so he might be worth grabbing if still on your wire.
