Concussed by a Browns defender, Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd departed the first half of Sunday's game at Qualcomm Stadium.
Floyd took a hit from linebacker Nate Orchard after another Browns defender had wrapped up Floyd on a 20-yard reception.
Floyd went to the sideline, where the Chargers' training staff looked at him. He returned to the game, but then departed. The team announced he will not return due to a concussion.
Perhaps it's good news that Floyd returned to the game before eventually leaving again. He'll have to go through the league's protocol. It would normally mean good news for Stevie Johnson owners, but Johnson suffered a hamstring injury in the game. Jacoby Jones and Dontrelle Inman are next up on the depth chart should Floyd and/or Johnson miss time.
