When it comes to DFS lineups, looking at matchups and opportunities will be key in constructing a winning lineup. Everyone knows that Odell Beckham, Jr. is a top receiver, but that doesn’t necessarily make him a slam dunk starter every week in DFS (see last week against Buffalo). Beckham is typically one of the most expensive wide receivers, but there will always be one with a cheaper price tag in a similar spot for production with a better matchup.
Each week, I’ll help you exploit specific defensive players and also touch on non-skill offensive players (read: the offensive line) to help you make the right choices on which players to roster and which players to fade.
Last week we had our hits with Pierre Garcon, Andy Dalton, Charles Clay and Amari Cooper. We also had misses with Frank Gore, Jordan Matthews and Percy Harvin. Let’s enjoy the wins and try to increase our hit rate even more in Week 5.
Situations to Exploit in the Passing Game
Jay Cutler returned earlier than expected and had a solid game against Oakland. An even better match-up awaits Cutler in Week 5 against the Chiefs. Cornerback Sean Smith returned in Week 4 and could be lining up on Marquess Wilson, however, Eddie Royal should see Ron Parker, who has allowed a 13.3 yard per catch average and 110 QB rating. If Alshon Jeffrey returns, he should be able to abuse Marcus Peters, who has allowed 280 yards in coverage. Cutler should be licking his chops in this match-up and is one of my top QBs this week.
