Week 6 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Thursday
Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (shoulder) took full practice reps again Thursday. It appears Bortles will play through the shoulder sprain. He’s not terribly accurate to begin with, so we wonder how this will affect his play. He’s the #6 fantasy QB through five weeks.
Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Luck is expected to play in Week 6, though it’s no sure thing. He’s been pretty shaky this season, but should produce QB1 numbers against the Patriots, provided he stays healthy. The Colts play on Sunday night.
Broncos QB Peyton Manning (not injury related) returned to full practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday. No worries here.
Browns QB Johnny Manziel (right elbow) took full practice reps again Thursday.
Browns QB Josh McCown (ankle) took limited practice reps again Thursday. McCown will be fine for a tough matchup with the Broncos.
Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Roethlisberger wants to play against his old coach, Bruce Arians, in Week 6, but there is “no expectation” that he will, per Jason La Canfora. His return would be a big boost for the entire offense, which has struggled with Michael Vick under center.
Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Taylor reportedly has an MCL sprain, but HC Rex Ryan indicates that he still has a chance to play. For now, we’re expecting E.J. Manuel to get the start. Manuel reportedly got most of the first-team reps. Buffalo plays early on Sunday.
