Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 7 Targets
Last week saw some more huge performances from streaming quality quarterbacks. Our optimal streamer, Blake Bortles, scored 22.94 points, Brian Hoyer 24.22, and Ryan Fitzpatrick 25.22. Colin Kaepernick and E.J. Manuel also finished inside the top-twelve in Week 6. Although volatility can be frightening, there is always upside to find among streamable QBs.
Whether your goal is to find a reliable, low-upside play or a boom-bust QB, the waiver wire in your typical 10- or 12-team league provides plenty of options. This week is no different, although across the board the matchups are less appealing than in many weeks.
Through six weeks, our optimal streamer is averaging 17 points, and our streaming QBs are averaging 15.1 points combined. That would rank them QB14 and QB24.
As always, our primary focus will be on each quarterback’s fantasy points per attempt, because of how well that correlates with fantasy production, and on aFPA for the defenses they face.
Week 7 QB Streaming Targets
Tyrod Taylor (BUF) at Jacksonville Jaguars
After one week above the streaming threshold, a minor injury sent Taylor back into the streaming ownership levels. Assuming he is healthy enough to play, Taylor is far and away the strongest streaming play this week against a middle-of-the-road Jaguars defense. Taylor is still best in the league in terms of fantasy points per attempt, and his last start showed he has rushing potential to create fantasy points even when the passing game isn’t clicking.
Taylor is available in 44% of Yahoo public leagues, and he is my optimal streamer of the week.
