Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appeared fast and quick in the first half. There was nary a sign that he was a player who hadn't practiced most of the week and was dealing with a hamstring injury.
Beckham had seven catches on seven targets in the first half. He disappeared in the second half, although it wasn't because of the hamstring. Beckham flew past Eagles cornerback Byron Maxwell deep down the left sideline on his only target in the second half. Too bad the ball was thrown out of bounds.
Beckham admittedly wasn't 100 percent, but whatever percentage he started at, that's where he finished. And it was enough to produce and scare the bejeezus out of the Eagles.
"I felt good enough to play. I kind of stayed right where I'm at," Beckham said after the 27-7 loss to the Eagles. "I don't think there are any major setbacks."
Beckham said the decision to play (in his mind) came the second the 49ers game ended the previous Sunday night. He was going to do whatever necessary to get himself on the field for this huge NFC East matchup in primetime. Despite not practicing until Sunday, Beckham was on the field for almost every snap on Monday night. He played 66 of 68 offensive plays. Looks like he'll be good to go in Week 7 against the Cowboys.
