Dion Lewis out for year with torn ACL

The New England Patriots will be without running back Dion Lewis for the rest of the season, as an MRI on Monday revealed he has a torn ACL.

Fantasy Impact:

This is obviously a tough blow for Lewis, the Patriots and his owners. LeGarrette Blount probably picks up half of his carries, but Lewis’s role in the in the passing game is up for grabs. James White filled in during Week 7, but didn’t do much (five touches, 30 yards), and Brandon Bolden was inactive that week with a hamstring injury. In Week 9, White was a healthy scratch while Bolden saw four touches for 39 yards and a touchdown, including 3-27-1 (4) in the passing game. White did play ahead of Bolden in Week 8 (but wasn't impressive). White also has the endorsement of beat writer Mike Reiss, who believes that he is ahead of Bolden on the team's RB depth chart. It's also not out of the question the Pats could bring back Travaris Cadet, who was released in late September.
