Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron suffered a sprained left wrist during Monday night’s loss to the Broncos.
Citing a source, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted Tuesday that an MRI on McCarron’s non-throwing arm revealed no fracture and that there’s still a chance he plays next Sunday vs. the Ravens, though in a separate tweet Rapoport called the sprain “significant.”
The Bengals have clinched the AFC North. They’d only get a first-round playoff bye if they win Sunday and the Broncos lose to the Chargers, the story went on to say. So, this is a meaningful game and the extra week off would be nice to give to starter Andy Dalton. The other healthy quarterback on the roster is Keith Wenning, a 2014 Ravens draft pick who’s never played in a regular season game.
