Tom Brady is down but not out in New England.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Patriots quarterback checked out fine Monday after spraining his ankle during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. ESPN first reported the news.
Armed with the AFC's second-overall playoff seed, New England won't play until Saturday, Jan. 16, giving Brady another 12 days to rest the ankle, which he hurt on a crushing hit from defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh.
"I'm pretty sore," Brady said after the game, per ESPN.com, "but it will be all right."
