Exploiting Defenses in DFS - Divisional Round
The NFL playoffs have begun, and the weekend lived up it its billing; it was truly a Wild Card Weekend. Not only did all four road teams win, but the four QBs with playoff experience moved on over the QBs making their first playoff go-around.
As me move on to the Divisional round, much like last week, the defenses are getting tougher, as we now add the Cardinals, Broncos and Panthers to the mix.
It’s one thing to look at the match-ups and see which team is allowing the most points to a position. This week, I’ll help you exploit specific defensive players and also touch on non-skill offensive players (read: the offensive line) to help you make the right choices on which players to roster and which players to fade in DFS lineups.
Last week we had our hits with Aaron Rodgers, A.J. Green, Randall Cobb, Martavis Bryant, Spencer Ware and Jeremy Hill. We also had our misses with A.J. McCarron, DeSean Jackson and Alfred Morris. Let’s enjoy the wins and try to increase our hit rate even more during the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Situations to Exploit in the Passing Game
We get to target the Cardinals passing attack this week. Two receivers I’m looking to play this week are John Brown and Michael Floyd. The Packers have been shifting cornerbacks in their secondary with Sam Shields dealing with a concussion. Of the two Cardinal receivers, I do like Brown the best, as he should line up against Damarious Randall, a rookie that Carson Palmer targeted five times in their first matchup in Week 16. Randall has allowed 15.7 yards per catch and 738 yards in coverage this season, while Brown is averaging 15.4 yards per catch and had 1,003 receiving yards.
