Aaron Rodgers was the QB12 off the board last season and tore his Achilles tendon early in his first game with the Jets. The Jets added Mike Williams and rookie Malachi Corley, and the offensive line should make a quick turnaround after adding Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and rookie Olu Fashanu. As the 19th quarterback off the board in early drafts, Rodgers is a sneaky QB2-type pick in the late rounds given his surrounding weapons (ahem–Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, anyone?) and an improved offensive line. Don’t be surprised if Rodgers posts a top-12 finish.

Former Chargers WR Mike Williams is signing with the Jets on a 1-year deal worth up to $15M, another weapon for Aaron Rodgers. He’s on a visit there today.

Fantasy Impact:

A 1-2 punch should do wonders for a struggling Jets WR group, and Williams offers a legit piece to whoever takes snaps at QB. Wilson is a great fringe WR1/2 option, while Williams is down in the WR2/3 range

Week 1 at San Francisco 49ers

Aaron Rodgers will take the field in San Francisco with a very low bar to clear his performance from a season ago. That being said, we also have low expectations for him. Our rankings have Rodgers at QB20 heading into Week 1.

Last season, only 25% of opposing quarterbacks cleared 300 yards and 8-of-20 quarterbacks threw for multiple touchdowns against the 49ers. With the tough matchup, our projection seems about right and you likely have better options in redraft.
