According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler's second opinion confirmed the initial timeline of 4-6 weeks of rehab.

Ekeler sought a second opinion after not being happy with his initial diagnosis and timeline but had it confirmed by a second professional. This timeframe could mean Ekeler is placed on injured reserve in the coming days. Joshua Kelley is expected to operate as the lead back in a committee with Justin Jackson, but the hot hand may end up getting more touches on any given afternoon. Kelley is our 21st ranked running back for Week 5, Jackson is our 37th.

A report earlier Monday indicated Chargers running back Austin Ekeler would miss multiple weeks with his injuries. A new report puts the prognosis at 4-6 weeks.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Ekeler is seeking a second opinion on his hamstring injury and hyperextended knee and the timeline doctors have given him.

Ekeler played only three offensive snaps Sunday and had three touches for 14 yards. Meanwhile, Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley handled the running back duties after Ekeler’s injury Sunday. It's likely Kelley gets the larger workload going forward, but Jackson will be a factor as well.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler suffered what is considered a serious hamstring injury and while no firm decision will be made until all the analysis is done, Injured Reserve is the likely landing spot with hope of returning later in the season.
