Scouting report

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. New Orleans
Austin Seferian-Jenkins had a surprise performance for Tampa Bay in Week 1. He finished with a team-high five receptions, a team-high 110 receiving yards and had the only two touchdowns for the Buccaneers.

For now we'll view ASJ's huge game as an anomaly, but he's a player to keep an eye on. In addition to his two touchdown receptions, he had an athletic grab near the sideline where he showed off some nifty footwork. ASJ should be viewed as a low-end TE1 play in Week 2.

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Tennessee

Austin Seferian-Jenkins dealt with injuries throughout his rookie season, starting just nine games. He didn't have a large role in the Bucs offense, but that could change in 2015. ASJ is in a new offensive system with a better quarterback and has his health back. ASJ is a big target and could be a redzone threat for Tampa Bay, and he'll go against a Titans team this week who allowed 11 touchdowns to the TE position a year ago.

Right now, there are a lot of questions surrounding ASJ. He's a risky play in Week 1, but it could pay off. There is not a lot of talent at the tight end position, so ASJ becomes a low TE1 play.

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 15 vs. Carolina Panthers
Austin Seferian-Jenkins returned to practice this week, but remained in a limited session. He's on track to return, but nothing is guaranteed. Even if he does play he won't be a good option in fantasy.

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 14 vs. Detroit
Austin Seferian-Jenkins didn't play last week and hasn't practiced this week, so it's a strong possibility he won't play again. Even if he does, he's a touchdown dependent tight end. He's not worth a look.

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 13 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Austin Seferian-Jenkins (back) returned to practice this week. He missed most of Week 12's game against Chicago. Before he exited he finished with two receptions for 16 yards on four targets.

ASJ is a touchdown dependent option at this point. He's not likely to finish with many yards and will need a score to be relevant in fantasy. He's not a reliable option.

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

A week after having eight targets Austin Seferian-Jenkins finished with one target, a pass he caught for seven yards. ASJ has had a few games like this, making him a very unreliable option in fantasy.

There's reason for some optimism in ASJ this week, however. He faces a Chicago Bears defense that's been dreadful against tight ends. Tight ends against the Bears have caught 10 touchdowns in the last six games. ASJ is a big target in the red zone and could capitalize this week. He's a risky play, but he's bordering on low-end TE1 status.

TB TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Week 11 vs. Washington

Austin Seferian-Jenkins saw eight targets last week, a season high for him. This is important because it's the first time we've seen quarterback Josh McCown and ASJ play a full game together. If McCown keeps throwing to ASJ like this, he'll be a better candidate in the future.

ASJ finished the game with five receptions for 30 yards and caught his second touchdown in three games. He doesn't get many yards, so he's still not a great fantasy option at the moment. He's still a TE2.
