Scouting report

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 @ Cincinnati Bengals
Though we haven't seen a high-upside rushing performance out of Bo Nix in quite a while, he does have 58 yards on the ground over the last two games, which has baked a little value into his floor. The rookie has delivered some clunkers in tougher matchups this season but has shown out against softer defenses, and lucky for us, the Bengals present one of the latter. Cincinnati ranks 26th in QB aFPA, allowing the ninth-most yards per game (244.6) on the season. Though they've looked slightly better as of late, they still have a 414-yard (Russell Wilson) game on their resume over the past month. Nix is likely already in a tier above Wilson at this point, which means he has to have a similar ceiling in Week 17.

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 @ Los Angeles Chargers
Against two tougher defenses in the last two games, Bo Nix has been iffy in fantasy box scores, tossing four touchdowns but pairing it with five interceptions and a mediocre 130 yards in Week 15. He has a chance to get back on track against a Chargers team that ranks 21st in QB aFPA, and we're hoping he can get the ground game going like he had in the first half of the season. The Chargers have allowed the 7th-highest yards per attempt (9.3) and the 6th-most yards per game (23.9) on quarterback scrambles on the year. Consider the rookie a fringe QB1/2 in Week 16.

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Indianapolis Colts
After a great stretch of games starting near the middle of the year, Bo Nix came back down to Earth before the team's Week 14 bye, notching a 64.5% adjusted completion rate and two touchdowns to the Cleveland Browns. That was, admittedly, a tough matchup, but he now gets a Colts defense ranking a respectable 10th in QB aFPA, which should tamper expectations a little bit. Nix offers a bit of ceiling with his legs, but he has only 14 combined yards rushing over the last four.

Consider the rookie a fringe QB1/2 in Week 15.

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns
Bo Nix more than held his own against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10, before torching the Falcons and Raiders for a 580-6-0 stat line over the last two weeks. We haven't seen Nix's wheels in a while (10 yards over the last three weeks), but the Browns present a good enough matchup that he should be fantasy-viable, even if he doesn't take off with the ball. The rookie should be considered a QB1 option, or a fantastic streamer, if he's still on waiver wires.

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 @ Las Vegas Raiders
Bo Nix more than held his own against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10, before torching the Falcons for a 307-4-0 stat line last week. We haven't seen Nix's wheels in a while (-5 and 5 yards over the last two weeks), but the Raiders present a good enough matchup that he should be fantasy-viable, even if he doesn't take off with the ball. Las Vegas ranks 26th in QB aFPA, and the rookie should be considered a QB1 option, or a fantastic streamer, if he's still on waiver wires.

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Atlanta Falcons
Bo Nix more than held his own against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, and his two touchdowns saved what was his first bad rushing day since Week 4. He should be able to uncork the running game a little better against an Atlanta Falcons defense that allows the sixth-highest yards per scramble (9.2) and the ninth-most scramble yards per game (24.0). Nix has a nice floor/ceiling combination (which seems weird to type after the first month of the season) and is a QB1 streaming option.

DEN QB Bo Nix - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 @ Kansas City Chiefs
If it weren't for a touchdown reception (yes, reception) in Week 9, Nix' fantasy box score would have been a bust. But, he ended up saving his day and will not head into a much tougher matchup on the road in Kansas City. Though he does have a nice floor with his legs, Nix should be considered outside of streaming consideration in all but the deepest leagues.
