Week 9 vs Panthers

Despite seeing five fewer touches than Rhamondre Stevenson, Bolden's snap count shows he's still going to see the field plenty, seeing double the snaps of Stevenson. Surprisingly, he didn't see a single passing target against the Chargers. That should change against the Panthers as a way to try and beat the Panthers with their running backs. That said, Bolden is a deep play this week and more of a bye-week fill-in.

Week 8 vs Chargers

I guess Bolden's thigh is doing ok. He was questionable going into the game but ended up leading the charge in the receiving game with six catches, 79 yards and a touchdown. Of course, we can't always rely on that sort of output every week, but it shows the ceiling that Bolden can hit, even with just playing only about 20-30 percent of snaps as the passing-down back. He's a deep flex this week against the Chargers, especially in PPR leagues. Not so much in non-PPR since he rarely sees any rushes.

Week 6 vs Cowboys

Brandon Bolden saw the most time on the field in Week 5 for the Patriots. Of course, that only amounted to 24 snaps and he saw just six touches. He has started to cement himself, however, as the new James White in this offense. He has 13 catches in the last three games. Damien Harris is a bit banged up, but Rhamondre Stevenson would likely see more work as result. Bolden might still be worth a look if you need a pass-catching back to replace Alvin Kamara this week.

Week 4 vs Buccaneers

With James White out for the season, Brandon Bolden could take over as the pass-catching back in New England. Bolden caught three passes for 23 yards and also saw three carries, though he finished with -1 yard. Bolden is a deep flex option against the stout Buccaneers' rush defense.

Week 8 vs Cleveland Browns
Rex Burkhead is looking at a potential return in Week 8, and if that comes to pass, it torpedoes Bolden's fantasy value. Bolden has been impressively efficient on limited touches over the past few weeks and would have low RB3/high RB4 potential in Burkhead's absence, so it's worth keeping an eye on Friday's practice report and Sunday's inactive list to gauge Bolden's fantasy-related worth.

Week 7 at New York Jets
In the absence of Rex Burkhead, Brandon Bolden has now finished as the RB28 and the RB22 in Weeks 5 and 6 respectively. He's only lined up for around 15% of the offensive snaps in both weeks but managed to score a touchdown in each game. Rex Burkhead is questionable for the week, and if he were to miss the game, Bolden should again be startable with RB3 expectations, though he would be a touchdown-dependent option best used in GPPs.

NE RB Brandon Bolden - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Brandon Bolden is the perfect Bill Belichick player. He can pass protect, come in the game in relief whenever needed, can catch passes, and play on special teams. His value is much larger in real football than in fantasy.

Fantasy Downside
Bolden is buried behind Dion Lewis, LeGarrette Blount, and James White. He will not see fantasy relevance without an injury.

2016 Bottom Line
Not on your radar as far as drafts, but if injuries arise, he could be the reliable back Belichick leans on.
