Scouting report

DEN K Brandon McManus - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Cleveland
Not only is Brandon McManus a perfect 12-for-12 on field goal attempts this season, he is four-for-four from beyond 50 yards, including a 52-yarder at Oakland last Sunday. The Broncos offense continues to sputter, but keep on starting McManus as he’s been a scoring machine.

DEN K Brandon McManus - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Oakland
The Broncos offense hasn’t found its rhythm yet, but that hasn’t halted Brandon McManus' success in any way. He booted three more field goals in the home win over the Vikings last week and is perfect (9-for-9) on the season. With his strong leg, McManus is a solid option at kicker.

DEN K Brandon McManus - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Minnesota
Brandon McManus missed a 53-yard field goal last week in Detroit, but a penalty gave him new life and he connected from 48 yards out. He is a perfect six-for-six on the season, with five of his attempts coming from beyond 40 yards. He’ll be kicking at home with the altitude on Sunday, so don’t be surprised to see him have the opportunity for some more long boots.

DEN K Brandon McManus - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Detroit
In the win at Kansas City last Thursday, Brandon McManus booted his third field goal of 50-plus yards this season. He is five-for-five in two games and will be kicking indoors on Sunday night. The Broncos offense looks to be finding its groove, which will only lead to good things for McManus.

DEN K Brandon McManus - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Kansas City
What a start to the season for Brandon McManus. In the first quarter of last week’s win over Baltimore, he drilled field goals of 56 and 57 yards and both had plenty of distance to spare. On the afternoon, the Denver K was 4-for-4 and accounted for 13 of the team’s 19 points. While he won’t be kicking at high altitudes again on Thursday, Brandon has a strong leg and has earned the confidence from HC Gary Kubiak. Even with the Broncos offensive woes in the opener, McManus remains a top kicker.

DEN K Brandon McManus - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 – Brandon McManus vs. Baltimore Ravens
After beating out Connor Barth in the preseason, Brandon McManus gets a second shot to be the Broncos full-time kicker. He got off to a good start last season, connecting on six of his first seven attempts, but made just three of his final six before being replaced by Barth. The Broncos offense, while not as powerful as it was a couple years ago, will still put up points, giving McManus a decent amount of scoring chances.

DEN K Brandon McManus - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
After Matt Prater’s suspension at the beginning of last season, the Broncos opted to waive the veteran and stick with Brandon McManus, who made six of his first seven FG attempts. He has a very strong leg and was averaging six points per game through Week 12.

Fantasy Downside
After the strong start to ’14, Brandon made just three of his final six attempts and was used as the kickoff specialist during the final month, with the FG duties being passed to Connor Barth.

Bottom Line
With the recent waiving of Barth, McManus will be the Broncos kicker, at least to start the season. Denver scored 56 TDs last season and attempted 29 field goals. The team will continue to be one of the top point scorers in the NFL, so Brandon should get plenty of scoring chances each week.
