WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at San Francisco 49ers

Brian Robinson had a typical Brian Robinson performance last week. He ran 12 times for 89 yards while catching just one pass for 18 yards. He nearly delivered a touchdown late in the game, but it was called back due to a controversial penalty. Things will get tough for Robinson in Week 16 as he draws a brutal matchup vs. the 49ers. San Francisco has given up the fewest average fantasy points to running backs this season. Mostly because they've given up the fewest total rushing yards to the position. Considering Robinson's only production really comes via rush attempts, we aren't expecting a very productive game for Robinson. Fantasy owners will need to hope he finds the endzone, which will be tough considering San Fran's given up just five rushing touchdowns to running backs all year. Robinson should be viewed as an RB3/flex option for Week 16.

WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New York Giants

Brian Robinson had a solid outing in his last game, finishing with 96 yards on 21 carries. He also added 15 yards on two receptions. Robinson has seen a shocking amount of volume since taking over in Washington, averaging 18.5 carries in his seven starts. It's also worth noting his 96-yard outing came against the Giants, his same opponent this week. It wouldn't be out of the picture to assume he'd have similar production, especially since it's a favorable matchup (23rd aFPA). Robinson carries some risk because he offers little to no value as a receiver, which makes him dependent on touchdowns to really make a difference in half or full PPR formats. Still, he sees so much work on the ground that he's still a solid RB2 option for Week 15.

WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at New York Giants

Brian Robinson had the best game of his young career last week, topping the 100-yard mark for the first time. Robinson ran 18 times for 105 yards (season-best 5.83 ypc) while catching two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. But that was in a favorable matchup. Things get tougher this week against the Giants (9th aFPA). Robinson will likely still see plenty of touches, but he likely won't be as productive. Still, with Washington force-feeding him the ball, Robinson is usually able to finish with enough production to make him a valuable low-end RB2 or strong flex option.

WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Brian Robinson ran the ball 15 times for 57 yards last week and once again saw no targets out of the backfield. He played on 34% of the offensive snaps, which is lower than we've seen from him in recent games. He saw fewer carries than Antonio Gibson as well. Robinson is good for around 15 carries a game, but his lack of use as a receiving threat plus his 3.4 yards per carry leaves a lot to be desired. He'll be a decent RB3/flex play this week against the Falcons (25th aFPA), but he's somewhat of a touchdown dependent back.

WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Houston Texans

Brian Robinson saw a season-high 26 carries last week, finishing with 86 yards on the ground with a touchdown. He saw no targets out of the backfield for the fourth time in his six starts, though. The story with Robinson is pretty apparent at this point. He's Washington's primary rusher and will get lots of opportunities, even if he's not going to wow you with his 3.3 ypc. The good news for Robinson is that Week 11 is a perfect script for him as he faces a Texans defense that's given up the most average fantasy points to opposing running backs. Even better for Robinson is that Houston mostly struggles to stop the actual run, giving up the most rush yards to running backs this season. Robinson should be viewed as a solid RB2 play for Week 11.

WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Philadelphia Eagles

Brian Robinson led Washington in carries last week with 13, finishing with 44 yards on the ground. He also caught two passes, but he went backwards, losing six yards. Robinson hasn't been super impressive since debuting for Washington, averaging 44.6 yards per game. He's scored just once in five games, has four total receptions and is averaging 3.2 yards per carry. If you start him, you're basically hoping he manages to score on a short yardage carry near the goal line as he doesn't offer much of anything else. He'll be a desperation flex play in Week 10 in an OK matchup vs. the Eagles (17th aFPA).

WAS RB Brian Robinson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Brian Robinson technically didn't start last week, although he did lead Washington in carries with eight. Although that was just one more carry than Antonio Gibson and a far cry from his 20 carries in Week 7, or his 17 carries in Week 6. He also only played on 25% of the offensive snaps, his fewest since returning to action this season. He also saw no targets, which has been the case for three of his four games. Robinson could have another dud game as he draws a tough matchup against the Vikings in Week 9. Minnesota has allowed the fewest total rushing yards to running backs this season, so with Robinson's non-existent role as a receiving threat, the script is pretty unfavorable for him heading into Week 9. He should be viewed as a risky RB3 this week.
