LAR QB Bryce Perkins - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Seattle Seahawks

As of Friday morning, the Rams have yet to name their starter for Week 13. Bryce Perkins seems to be the early favorite to start so what can we expect from him this week? In Week 12 in his first career start, Perkins did flash some of his dual-threat capabilities. Perkins completed 13 of 23 passes for 100 yards and passed for one touchdown while rushing for 44 yards on the ground. That performance doesn’t seem like much, but playing without the Rams’ two top wide receivers, and a banged-up offensive line, it was a solid showing from Perkins.

This week Perkins could be viewed as a desperation two-QB league/Superflex start vs. the Seattle Seahawks. This season the Seahawks have allowed decent rushing performances to mobile quarterbacks. Kyler Murray has rushed for 160 yards in two games vs. Seattle in 2022. Is Perkins an auto-start no, but if you need a desperation two QB league/Superflex plug-in-play, you could do worse than Perkins in Week 13.

LAR QB Bryce Perkins - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Kansas City Chiefs

Bryce Perkins will potentially be getting the first NFL start of his career this week vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Perkins is a dual-threat quarterback that graduated from Virginia all the way back in 2019. At Virginia Perkins started 27 games throwing for 6,210 yards and rushing for 1,692 yards in his two years as a starter. Now three years later he most likely will get to show what he can do at the NFL level. Last week Perkins did flash some of that dual-threat ability throwing for 64 yards and rushing for 39 on the ground. The good news for Perkins is Head Coach Sean McVay does know how to utilize a dual-threat quarterback from his days with the Washington Commanders. McVay was a part of the staff that helped Robert Griffin III win rookie of the year as he took the league by storm in 2012. However, with no teams on bye this week, we shouldn’t expect Perkins to be much more than a low-end QB2 this week vs. the Chiefs. Back in Week 9 the Chiefs faced a similar quarterback in Malik Willis, and were able to contain him to just 120 total yards and no scores on the day. Dealing with a depleted offensive line, and in a tough spot vs. the Chiefs, it is best to fade the situation in Week 12.
