Fantasy Upside
Usually, the best ability for a player is availability. As our John Paulsen notes, Cade Otton has played in 33 of a possible 34 games and played 96% of the snaps in 2023. He didn't play fewer than 91% of snaps in a single game and had three games in which he played every single offensive snap. If anything, Otton is on the field for the Bucs.
Fantasy Downside
The bad news is that, despite always being on the field, it hasn't equaled fantasy success. Otton caught 47 passes for 455 yards and four touchdowns in 2023. He was TE19 last season and 24th in points per game among tight ends. The volume just hasn't been there for Otton.
2024 Bottom Line
Otton can be a serviceable TE2 in fantasy circles, but until we see more from him on offense, that's all he's going to be for the time being.
