Scouting report

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Buffalo Bills

Cade Otton was utilized last week as he finished with five receptions for a season-high 43 yards. It's just the second time this season Otton has finished above 20 yards in a game. Otton might have a few decent games here and there, but he's too unreliable to be trusted on a week-to-week basis. We' avoid him in Week 8 against the Bills (9th aFPA).

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Cade Otton caught just one pass for 15 yards last week. He's now finished below 20 receiving yards in four of his five games this season. Otton isn't productive enough to warrant fantasy consideration. We'd avoid him in Week 7.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Detroit Lions

Cade Otton found the end zone in Week 4, but that's about all he did as he only finished with three catches for 13 yards. Otton has finished below 20 receiving yards in three of his four games this season, making him a pretty weak option in fantasy. We'd look elsewhere for your tight end needs in Week 6.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Philadelphia Eagles

Through two games this season, Cade Otton has finished 2-19 and 6-41. While six catches for 41 yards is nice, we have a hard time seeing Otton being a consistent player. There are plenty of better tight end options available for Week 3, so we wouldn't trust Otton against the Eagles.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Chicago Bears

Cade Otton saw three targets in Week 1, finishing with two catches for 19 yards. Backup tight end Ko Kieft also saw three targets, although he had no receptions. Unless Otton starts to see an uptick in production, he's not going to be very relevant in fantasy. We'd avoid him in his Week 2 matchup vs. the Bears.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Minnesota Vikings

Cade Otton had a decent rookie season, finishing 42-391-2 despite playing with Cameron Brate. Brate is now a free agent, which frees up some snaps for Otton. But Tom Brady is also gone, which isn't great for anyone in this offense. Overall, there's not a lot to be excited about when it comes to Otton. We'd avoid him in Week 1 vs. the Vikings.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Carolina Panthers

Tom Brady looked Cade Otton's way fairly often last week as the rookie tight end had seven targets. He just couldn't connect as Otton finished with two catches for 12 yards. Since Cameron Brate returned from injury in Week 10, Otton has averaged 2.7 receptions for 20.5 yards. That's just not enough to make him a trustworthy option in Week 17 against the Panthers (20th aFPA). He's outside of the top 20 tight ends this week.
