Scouting report

by Anthony Stalter

LA QB Case Keenum - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Arizona
Case Keenum completed 14-of-26 passes for 190 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the Rams’ 37-32 win over the Bucs in Week 3. The pick was ugly, as Kwon Alexander took the gift to the house in the first half, but the touchdown pass to Brian Quick was on the money. Despite his success last week, Keenum ranks as our QB30 for Week 4, making him the worst quarterback option in fantasy this weekend.

LA QB Case Keenum - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Tampa Bay
Case Keenum completed 18-of-30 passes for 239 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Rams’ 9-3 victory over the Seahawks in Week 2. It was the second straight week that the Rams failed to reach the end zone, but thanks to an outstanding defensive effort, they were able to beat a banged up Seattle team. Despite facing single coverage on the outsides with the Seahawks stacking the box to slow down Todd Gurley, Keenum was unable to find the end zone. Jeff Fisher remains confident that Keenum will improve, but we have him ranked as our QB32 for Week 3 despite facing a Buccaneers team that is weak in the secondary.

LA QB Case Keenum - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Seattle
Case Keenum was dreadful in the Rams Week 1 loss to the 49ers on Monday night, completing just 17-of-35 passes for 130 yards with two interceptions. Keenum was so bad that Jeff Fisher admitted after the game that he considered benching the quarterback for backup Sean Mannion. Fisher, who is somehow on the verge of receiving a contract extension despite below average results with the Rams, also indicated that Keenum remains his starting quarterback.

Out of the 32 quarterbacks that we ranked for Week 2, Keenum is listed at No. 32. Avoid him and every Rams player that isn't Todd Gurley.

STL QB Case Keenum - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at San Francisco
Case Keenum completed 14-of-23 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 16 win over the Seahawks. His lone touchdown pass came on a 28-yard toss to Kenny Britt, who beat Richard Sherman on the play. Keenum once again was asked to manage the game and for a third-straight week, that's exactly what he did while guiding the Rams to an upset win over the Seahawks in Seattle. But despite leading St. Louis to another victory, Keenum holds no fantasy value. He ranks as our QB32 for Week 17 and should be avoided.

STL QB Case Keenum - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Seattle
Case Keenum completed 14-of-17 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams Week 15 win over the Buccaneers. Keenum was efficient, showing more pocket awareness and accuracy than Nick Foles did at any point this season. He completed a 60-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Britt in the first quarter and has now led the Rams to back-to-back wins. That said, he faces a Seattle defense on Sunday that ranks No. 3 against fantasy quarterbacks this season. Ranked as our QB32, avoid Keenum in Week 16.

STL QB Case Keenum - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Tampa Bay
Case Keenum completed 14-of-22 passes for 124 yards with one interception in the Rams Week 14 win over the Lions. Keenum benefited greatly from St. Louis' stout defense and Todd Gurley's 147-yard performance, but he nevertheless moved the offense more efficiently than Nick Foles. That said, while he successfully managed the game for the Rams, Keenum isn't an option in any fantasy format, regardless of the matchup. Leave him on your waiver wire.

STL QB Case Keenum - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Detroit
Case Keenum will draw the start for the Rams on Sunday when they host the Lions. Keenum missed the Bengals game two weeks ago after suffering a concussion in a Week 11 loss to the Ravens, and even though he was cleared to play late last week, he didn't start against the Cardinals because he did receive enough practice reps. In his lone start this season, Keenum completed 12-of-26 passes for 136 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions. He ranks as our QB32 for Week 14, so avoid him at all costs.
