Things are looking good for the healthy Texans skill position players, as well as Stroud suiting up as a top-10 fantasy option for the Fantasy Championships.

Potential good news for the Texans: QB C.J. Stroud, in the NFL's concussion protocol, is expected to practice today. Coach DeMeco Ryans told Stacey Dales on Sunday that Stroud had been in meetings on Friday. "He's definitely making progress." This would be more progress.

Keenum led the Texans to a win to keep them in the playoff hunt, but that didn't do much for us in fantasy, as he only notched 11.3 points. He gets a tough matchup against the Browns this week, and should be off fantasy radars, even in the deepest leagues.

Schefter's post went on to say Stroud is likely to miss a second-straight game this coming Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. It's a tough break for fantasy owners who have rode Stroud to the playoffs this season. While it was Mills who backed up Stroud most of the season, Keenum got the start last week and one would think he gets the call again in Week 16 if Stroud is out. It could be a tough go against the good Browns defense.

C.J. Stroud missed Sunday’s overtime win over the Titans on Sunday after being concussed in Houston’s Week 14 loss to the Jets and head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters on Monday that Stroud remains in the concussion protocol. Wednesday’s practice will be the next milestone in his path back to the lineup.

Despite Davis Mills serving as the No. 2 quarterback all season, Case Keenum got the start against Tennessee. He was 23-of-36 for 229 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the win.

This doesn't sound like a great start to the week as the Texans hope to get their star QB back on the field. If Stroud can't go, the story said Ryans did not say whether Keenum will start against the Browns on Christmas Eve if Stroud is not cleared to return.

C.J. Stroud is out with a concussion. Davis Mills replaced Stroud in the fourth quarter against the Jets but it will be Keenum getting the start against the Titans. The Texans reportedly believe Keenum’s experience in big games is what the Texans need as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Texans are now behind two 8-6 teams in Cincinnati and Indianapolis.

Josh Allen was not on the field during the brief portion of practice open to the media.

Case Keenum is almost assuredly starting in Week 10, with Allen still being held out of Friday's practice. Keenum would have a great arsenal of weapons to work with, but without Allen's incredible rushing floor, he won't be a locked-in QB1 option.

Word is Josh Allen has expressed confidence to teammates he’ll be able to play Sunday vs. the Vikings but that’s what I’d expect him to say. We’ll see as Sunday draws closer for the Bills’ franchise QB.

Mike Giardi reported Allen didn't practice on Wednesday and also tweeted the team says they have confidence in Keenum if he'd be needed. It's not a shock Allen isn't practicing today but you'll want to monitor him the rest of the week. Giardi tweeted HC Sean McDermott said the team will use common sense with Allen.

The injury is considered not to be major, but Allen's status for this week is certainly up in the air as of now. Allen seems like the type of player who would play through it, but the team could lean toward sitting him with the idea of keeping him healthy for the long haul. Continue to monitor his practice status this week. Keenum would be under center if Allen doesn't play but it's obviously a downgrade for the offense in terms of fantasy.

The tweet went on to say that Allen's injury is a UCL injury that will limit him this week. While it’s no sure thing that Allen plays vs the Vikings, belief is it’s an injury he can manage moving forward. How he responds this week is key, according to Rapoport.
