DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at New York Giants
The difference between a good game and a great game from CeeDee Lamb last week was failing to find the endzone. He managed 75 yards on 7 catches, but the lone passing touchdown went elsewhere.

You are still starting Lamb no matter what and this past game should boost your confidence. Expectations need to be tempered though. With Rush leading the charge, scoring will inevitably come less frequent. Lamb is a mid-WR2.

DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
After a brutal week one showing catching just two passes for 29 yards, it is only up from here for CeeDee Lamb, right? One would hope. Cincinnati should score some points, forcing Dallas' hand into throwing the ball at some point in this game.

In Rush's start last season, Lamb caught six balls for 112 yards. This is encouraging and gives hope to all the fantasy managers who spent a pretty penny on Lamb this draft season. I am cautiously optimistic when it comes to Lamb, therefore, I am starting him as a WR2 this week.

DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The fantasy community had high hopes for CeeDee Lamb heading into last season. Finishing as the WR18, some people may have felt let down. What makes this year any different? Well, with Amari Cooper gone, Lamb is now the prime option in this Dallas aerial attack.

This is a solid week one matchup for Lamb. In a game where Dallas will have to throw the ball in order to keep up with Tom Brady and crew, Lamb should see himself inside the top 12 wide receivers in fantasy scoring. Confidently start him as a WR1 this week.

DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - 2022 Fantasy Football Outlook

2022 Fantasy Upside
Barring a major injury, it’s difficult to see CeeDee Lamb not enjoying a prolific fantasy season. Now established as the team’s clear WR1, Lamb will see a huge increase from last season’s 20.4 percent target share, which only ranked 36th among all wide receivers. In his first two seasons competing with Amari Cooper, Lamb still managed to total 153 receptions, 2,037 receiving yards, and 11 total touchdowns. Dallas is one of the NFL’s best offenses when quarterback Dak Prescott is healthy, and played at the league’s fastest neutral game script pace in 2021. All signs point to a big leap for the third-year Oklahoma-product in 2022.

2022 Fantasy Downside
Could Lamb’s limited target share during his first two seasons be an indicator or a larger issue? Will Lamb face similar struggles to Cooper when trying to beat the opposition’s best cornerback? Prescott has a preference to target open receivers and will not force the ball to a player in tight coverage. The onus will be on Lamb to get open, which is a legitimate concern for a wide receiver that only ranked 42nd in target separation last year (PlayerProfiler).

2022 Bottom Line
While there is a certain level of risk with every early fantasy selection, everything lines up for Lamb to have a huge fantasy season. He is the top receiving option, in a high-scoring offense, with coaching continuity, and a much harder projected schedule. It’s time for CeeDee Lamb to ascend to an overall WR1 in fantasy football.

DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 versus Arizona Cardinals

Lamb put up his second-most yards over the past four weeks despite Dallas’s blowout that kept their most consistent receiver out of the end zone. Lamb will continue to be in the WR1 conversation with Cardinals S Budda Baker iffy to play Week 17 and will continue to see plenty of looks from Dak Prescott.

DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 versus Washington Football Team

Despite not having a ceiling game in some time, Lamb has three straight games with six receptions and at least 50 receiving yards. Lamb has also become the second player to show he is a better running back than Ezekiel Elliott, carrying the ball three times over the past three weeks for 48 yards. It is comfortable to start Lamb against one of the worst secondaries in football coming off a Tuesday night game.

DAL WR CeeDee Lamb - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New York Giants

Back-to-back seven-catch performances despite inconsistent offensive production from the Cowboys as a whole solidifies Lamb’s role as he winds down his second season in the NFL. Week 14 was just the third team this season his yards per reception was under 10. Start Lamb knowing that he has the ability to win in the short and long routes.
