KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Oakland

Expected to bring big numbers to the table in Week 16 against a porous Cleveland run defense, Charcandrick West was a disappointment. West churned out 62 yards on 14 carries and did not make an impact as a receiver.

The saving grace, however, is that West handled way more work than Spencer Ware. Charcandrick struggled previously against the Raiders, compiling just 44 yards, but that was when Ware had a higher level of involvement. While West carries a higher level of risk now than he did earlier in the season, he still delivers at least RB2 value to the season-ending dance.

KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Cleveland

With the Kansas City backfield to himself in Week 15, Charcandrick West rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown. When West has dominated carries, he has helped many fantasy teams emerge victorious.

Unfortunately for West and his fantasy owners, Spencer Ware is expected to resume his role in Kansas City’s backfield committee against the Browns. However, the presence of Ware may not matter as much as we think it would. Cleveland’s run defense is one of the worst in the NFL. Heading into Week 16, only New Orleans has allowed more yards per game than the Browns. And Kansas City, which is in the midst of a playoff push, ought to be able to handle Cleveland with relative ease. West will still get plenty of chances to succeed and should be started across all formats.

KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Baltimore

A big game eluded Charcandrick West in Week 14 even though he was playing a shaky San Diego run defense. West rushed for 54 yards on 10 carries and did not catch a pass.

However, a big game may be on the horizon for West on Sunday in Baltimore, as backfield mate Spencer Ware is expected to be sidelined, leaving the Kansas City backfield completely in West’s capable hands. In the last game Charcandrick carried the load in Week 10 against Denver, he racked up 161 yards and two touchdowns. Baltimore’s run defense is not as powerful as it used to be, but the Ravens have allowed just six touchdowns and are holding opponents to 99.5 yards per game. Nevertheless, fantasy football is a volume game and West should get lots of it, making him a nice RB1.

KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs San Diego

After missing Week 12 due to injury, Charcandrick West returned to the lineup in Week 13 when Kansas City defeated Oakland in a big AFC West clash. Unfortunately for anyone with West on their fantasy squad, he was no longer dominating touches thanks to the emergence of Spencer Ware, who scored a touchdown. West finished with nine carries for 35 yards.

While West does not have the ceiling he had earlier this season, he could still be a useful player down the stretch thanks to Kansas City’s easy schedule. The Chargers have one of the NFL’s most feeble run defenses, with opponents tearing through them for 124.6 yards per game. Additionally, San Diego has given up 12 touchdowns on the ground. West is a compelling RB2/flex option.

KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Oakland

After Jamaal Charles suffered a season-ending injury, Charcandrick West emerged as the new star of the Kansas City backfield. However, the backfield got a lot more crowded in Week 12 with West sidelined due to injury. Spencer Ware topped 100 yards and scored a touchdown, staking another claim to playing time after he had played well in relief of West in Week 11.

The strong performances from both players have led to talk about a shared backfield. While West would probably see the larger share of the load, Ware is more of a power back and could get first crack at goal line carries. Owners should welcome West back to their lineups this week, but he is now an RB2 as opposed to a player capable of carrying your team.

KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Buffalo
Will Charcandrick West be healthy enough to play against the Bills? He left last Sunday’s victory over San Diego with a hamstring injury after accumulating 64 total yards and as of Thursday, had not practiced. If West is able to give it a go, he needs to be in lineups throughout the fantasy landscape. But owners would be wise to have alternate options ready to go.

KC RB Charcandrick West - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at San Diego

Charcandrick West probably does not have much in common with comedian Frank Caliendo, but if there is one thing both know how to do, it is impersonations. With each passing week, West continues to perfect his impersonation of Jamaal Charles. This was evident in Week 10 in Denver when West scored on an 80-yard touchdown reception. He also rushed for 69 yards and another score.

Fantasy owners hoping for more of the same from West may get exactly what they want this week. San Diego has one of the NFL’s weaker run defenses, with opponents victimizing the Chargers for nine touchdowns and 123 yards per game. Charcandrick is a cinch RB1.
