Fantasy Upside
According to the Sports Xchange, Arizona filled two needs by selecting Kirk in the second round. Not only is he a capable wide receiver who can step in and contribute from the slot position right away, but he's also a very dangerous return man on punts and kickoffs. A local Arizona product out of Scottsdale Saguaro High School, where he was named the state's player of the year as a senior, Kirk started as a freshman at Texas A&M and in three seasons there, he caught 229 passes for 2,796 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also scored six other times on punt and kick returns. Adding to the intrigue, at this point the Cardinals have only J.J. Nelson and Brice Butler on the depth chart behind Larry Fitzgerald, so Kirk could see meaningful snaps during his rookie campaign.
Fantasy Downside
Stop me if you've heard this before, but receivers don't always set the world on fire as rookies (although there are clearly exceptions). One additional limiting factor in Arizona would be the presence of David Johnson, a capable enough pass-catcher to serve as the team's de facto WR2.
2018 Bottom Line
His true value will be greater in dynasty leagues, but Kirk is a prospect to watch. He'll be a late-rounder who could easily outproduce expectations, especially with both Sam Bradford and Josh Rosen being accurate passers capable of keeping the Cardinals passing attack moving.
