Super Bowl vs. Denver
Corey “Philly” Brown had a big game against the Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game, primarily due to an 86 yard touchdown reception. He ended up with four catches on the day for 113 yards, and he was second on the team with seven targets. Brown has run hot and cold in his short two year career in Carolina, but his issues with drops from earlier in the season seem to be less pronounced in the playoffs.
This week, Brown will face the league’s top pass defense from the regular season. Nobody allowed less passing yards than Denver this year, and it will be difficult for the Panthers to put up elite offensive numbers in the Super Bowl, like they did in the NFC Championship Game. Brown is a risky option, but is probably one of the better bets outside of the top two receiving options this week to catch a long touchdown, giving him some boom/bust value in most leagues.
