Fantasy Upside
Despite not being the primary tight end for Philadelphia, Dallas Goedert has put up solid tight end numbers during his first three seasons with 2019 being his best overall. Over the past two seasons, he has been considered a top 10 tight end at times and entering 2021, he has surpassed veteran teammate Zach Ertz as the top-ranked tight end on the team. He caught 104 passes over the past two years and scored 8 touchdowns.
Fantasy Downside
It's unclear if the tight ends will have the same role under new head coach Nick Sirianni like they did with the previous coaching staff. Goedert also had injury issues in 2020 missing five games but is considered healthy entering 2021. There is also the question of second-year QB Jalen Hurts and how much his passing game will progress from his rookie season. Veteran tight end Zach Ertz is still on the roster so he will also continue to get targets.
Bottom Line
Goedert is definitely a Top-10 fantasy tight end for the 2021 season. He has been going in the sixth or seventh round which is in line where his value is. Even with the Eagles putting in a new offense around Hurts, Goedert will be one of the highest targetted players on Philadelphia. Expectations are he will catch 65 passes for 812 yards.
