DAL TE Dalton Schultz - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Washington Football Team
Dalton Schultz emerged as a streaming option with Dak Prescott playing quarterback and throwing for massive volume in Dallas, but Prescott's injury has thrown Schultz's fantasy viability into question. With Andy Dalton under center in Week 6, Schultz saw five targets but only caught two for 35 yards. Dalton's target distribution is still uncertain and whether Schultz will see the volume or touchdown upside necessary for him to have streaming value is very much in doubt. Schultz is best left on benches until we see something from him with Dalton throwing him passes.

DAL TE Dalton Schultz - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Arizona Cardinals
Dalton Schultz crashed back to earth in Week 5 where he only caught one of three targets for six yards. This is despite him seeing 28 targets through the first four weeks of the season. Schultz will suffer from the same uncertainty as all of the Dallas pass catchers in the wake of Dak Prescott's injury, but his role had been fairly consistent up until the dud in Week 5. Schultz's usage since Blake Jarwin went down injured keeps him in the streaming discussion as a high-end TE2, but he will be tough to trust as a surefire starter until we see how Andy Dalton distributes targets.

DAL TE Dalton Schultz - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Giants
Dalton Schultz has assumed the mantle Blake Jarwin was supposed to have this season as the starting tight end for the explosive Dallas offense. Schultz has shown that the player occupying that role is not as important as the role itself, which benefits from extreme passing volume. Schultz has shown enough ability to be a viable TE1 streamer, especially in good matchups. Unfortunately this week's matchup with the Giants is not a good one for Schultz. The Giants struggle in many areas but are excellent at defending tight ends, as they are currently second in the league in our schedule-adjusted fantasy points against metric for opposing tight ends. Schultz can be started as a low-end TE1 just off sheer volume, but this week projects to be one of his lower scoring performances.

DAL TE Dalton Schultz - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Cleveland Browns
Dalton Schultz has streamer appeal this week against a Cleveland defense that has been dusted by tight ends to this point in the season. The Browns rank 30th in our schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to the position through three weeks. Schultz is coming off a rather pedestrian 4/48 line in Week 3, but has upside more more heading into this Sunday's matchup. Schultz can be streamed by those scavenging the waiver wire for tight ends and makes for an intriguing TE2 in deeper leagues.

DAL TE Dalton Schultz - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Seattle Seahawks
Dalton Schultz rose out Blake Jarwin's ashes to explode for nine catches, 88 yards and a touchdown in Week 2, shocking the Falcons and fantasy community at the same time. He got a whopping 10 targets in the game, a number that cannot be ignored when talking about a tight end available on most waiver wires. Do not be surprised if Week 2 is Schultz's best performance of the year, but he is certainly worth a look as a streamer or TE2 if he is going to be a significant part of the Dallas offense.
