LV TE Darren Waller - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Denver Broncos

Darren Waller continued to dominate targets last week against the Chargers, catching five of 10 balls thrown his way. He only gained 22 yards, but he found the end zone for the fourth time this season, already eclipsing his season total for touchdowns from his breakout year in 2019.

Waller doesn’t have a great matchup against the Broncos this week. Denver ranks 10th in aFPA to opposing tight ends this season. However, Waller’s targets and consistent production make him a must-start regardless of matchup. Keep him active this week in all league formats.

LV TE Darren Waller - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Los Angeles Chargers

Darren Waller was held to just 28 yards last week in some rough wind against the Browns, but he caught five balls on six targets and continues to be the most productive receiving option in Las Vegas. Waller is averaging 8.7 targets per game this year and has already equaled his touchdown total from last season.

This week, Waller faces a Chargers defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. With a great matchup in a game where the Raiders should be throwing the ball, Waller is a must-start across all league formats. Expect another 8.7 targets at least, and high-end fantasy production for Waller.

LV TE Darren Waller - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Cleveland Browns

Darren Waller had another nice outing last week against the Buccaneers with six catches, 50 yards and a touchdown. Waller now has three touchdowns on the season, matching his total from last year, and has one in each of his past two games. Waller leads the Raiders in targets, averaging 9.2 per game, and is the primary cog in the Las Vegas offense.

This week, Waller faces a Browns defense that ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing tight ends, giving him considerable upside in an excellent matchup. Waller is likely to continue leading the Raiders in targets, making him an elite fantasy option in all formats. Start him.

LV TE Darren Waller - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Darren Waller caught five of seven targets for 48 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs before the bye last week. Waller is averaging 9.4 targets per game and has been the most consistent target by far in the Raiders’ passing game. Waller has two touchdowns this season, compared to three all of last year, and is on pace for 108.8 receptions and 944 yards, which would be comparable to his breakout season last year – more catches, fewer yards. Waller is earning his draft stock and will remain in the upper echelon of tight end rankings.

This week, Waller faces a Buccaneers defense that ranks 10th in aFPA to opposing tight ends this year. It’s a tough matchup for the Raiders’ offense in general, but Waller has been so productive and gets so many targets, he’s a must-start regardless of the defense he’s facing. We have him ranked inside our top-five this week, and fantasy owners should leave him active every week he’s healthy.

LV TE Darren Waller - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Kansas City Chiefs

Darren Waller rebounded after a bad game against the Patriots in Week 3. He caught nine-of-12 balls thrown his way for 88 yards in a loss to the Bills and he continues to be the primary target in the Las Vegas passing game. Waller is averaging 10 targets per game and should be considered a must-start every week.

The Chiefs rank 17th in aFPA to opposing tight ends this season and Waller is really the only game in town for the Raiders, who are hobbled at the wide receiver positions. We have him ranked in our top-five this week and he should be active in all league formats.

LV TE Darren Waller - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Buffalo Bills

Darren Waller struggled last week against the Patriots with just two catches on four targets for nine yards. This was following an elite game against the Saints, where he finished with 12 catches. Expect something in the middle against the Bills this week. The Patriots are known for taking away an opponent’s best option, and Waller is certainly that for the Raiders.

The Bills gave up big numbers to Mike Gesicki in Week 2 and rank 27th in aFPA to opposing tight ends this year. Expect a healthier Waller to show up this week and to lead the team in targets. He’s a must-start regardless of matchup.

LV TE Darren Waller - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at New England Patriots

Darren Waller had a great game against the Saints last week, catching 12 balls for 103 yards and a touchdown. He has 24 targets through two games, more than twice as many as anyone else on the roster, and good for 35% of quarterback Derek Carr’s pass attempts. He’s picked up right where he left off last season and should continue to be heavily targeted throughout the season.

The Patriots have done well against the tight end position so far this year, holding Mike Gesicki, Will Dissly and Greg Olsen to a combined four catches on seven targets for 39 yards through two games. Waller is more of a key component to the offense than those other three are however, so he should get plenty of work once again. He’s a must-start in all formats as a TE1, regardless of matchup.
