Scouting report

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Cincinnati
DeAndre Hopkins posted eight grabs for 87 yards on a season-high 17 targets last week in the comeback win over the Jaguars. With Tom Savage taking over at QB, DeAndre had his most receptions since Week 6 and his most yards since Week 2. Savage will be again at the helm on Saturday, which makes Hopkins a viable fantasy play. Consider him a WR3/flex option against the No. 13 pass defense.

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Jacksonville
With the Texans ground game accounting for 185 yards last week in Indianapolis, Brock Osweiler only threw the ball 24 times for 147 yards. It was another disappointing day for DeAndre Hopkins owners, as the WR was targeted just four times, resulting in two catches for 33 yards. In November versus the Jags, DeAndre led the team with 48 yards as Brock Osweiler passed for 99 in the win. Hopkins should be considered a WR3/flex play against a good Jacksonville pass defense.

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 14, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Indianapolis
It had been nearly two months, but DeAndre Hopkins was back in the end zone last Sunday at Green Bay. Granted, it was mostly a meaningless score that covered 44 yards in snowy conditions, but Hopkins owners were happy for the results, nonetheless. Despite the disappointing season, DeAndre continues to get looks from Brock Osweiler, and has the potential for a breakout game any week. He caught nine passes for 71 yards in the comeback win versus Indy in October and makes for a WR2 play in the rematch.

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Green Bay
DeAndre Hopkins is coming off his best game since Week 6. In the loss to the Chargers last Sunday, he caught five passes for 70 yards, but still has not scored in the past six games. DeAndre has exactly five grabs in four of the past five contests, however he still has just the one 100-yard game in ’16. The Packers are No. 21 against the pass, making Hopkins a WR2 play.

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. San Diego
Last Monday in Mexico City, DeAndre Hopkins officially finished with five grabs for 58 yards, but was called out of bounds on what appeared to be a long touchdown. DeAndre hasn’t scored since Week 5 and hasn’t eclipsed 100 yards since Week 2. This may be the time he breaks out, however, as the Chargers allow 275 yards per game through the air. Due to his recent lack of production Hopkins should be considered a WR3/flex option.

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Oakland
The good news last week in Jacksonville was that of Brock Osweiler’s total passing yardage, 48 percent went to DeAndre Hopkins. The bad news was the Osweiler threw for just 99 yards. DeAndre continues to be a fantasy disappointment this season, mainly due to the struggles of his QB. He has less than 500 yards and only three scores in ’16. Oakland is No. 30 in pass defense, but consider Hopkins no more than a WR2 play.

HOU WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Jacksonville
Brock Osweiler has thrown for less than 200 yards in three of the past four contests, which continues to frustrate DeAndre Hopkins owners. In the game before the bye, DeAndre was targeted seven times, but caught only four passes for a team-leading 44 yards. Brock and the Houston passing game have a tough matchup at the Jags and their No. 5 pass defense on Sunday, so consider Hopkins a WR2 start.
