Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (hand) missed practice again Thursday. He has a broken finger, so consider Williams on the doubtful side of questionable for Week 14, which means Jonathan Stewart is shaping up as a very Sneaky Start against a shaky Saints rush defense. In five games that Williams has missed this season, Stewart has averaged 8.4 FP on 14.8 touches per game. Those are solid RB2 numbers, but keep in mind that Mike Tolbert is back in the fold, and he could siphon some goal line work from Stewart.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said RB DeAngelo Williams has fractured finger. Day-to-day situation. Rivera said he possibly can play with it once swelling is down.

Fantasy Impact: 

If Williams misses time, Jonathan Stewart would be in line for more work, and did look pretty good in Week 13 despite the loss to Minnesota. He finished with 12 carries for 85 yards while adding two catches and could make for a nice pickup for a road game at New Orleans in Week 14. It's a situation to monitor, because if Williams is a go, it would go back to the dreaded committee situation for the Carolina backs.

NFL.com Kevin Patra feels Jonathan Stewart needs to carry the load every game.

The Panthers back ran tough between the tackles and showed burst through the second level. He had a big 26-yard run early (his longest since 2011). Stewart ended with 85 yards rushing on 12 carries and two catches for 25 yards. The insistence on running DeAngelo Williams must end.
