Redskins RB Derrius Guice (knee) missed practice again Thursday. Guice is going to be out 6-8 weeks after having surgery to repair his meniscus. That means Adrian Peterson should be back in his lead back role that led to fantasy RB2 numbers last year. Chris Thompson had the No. 11 per game average (PPR) at his position in 2017, turning 10.3 touches per game into 80.4 total yards and 0.60 touchdowns per game. He scored 14+ in Week 1 and is fully healthy now.

Redskins RB Derrius Guice had surgery to trim a torn meniscus this morning, sources say. He is in Pensacola meeting with Dr. James Andrews, who performed the procedure. Guice is out indefinitely, as the team considers its roster options.

Fantasy Impact: 

Washington could put Derrius Guice on I.R., but we are still waiting on their time-frame for a return. In his absence, Adrian Peterson will be the lead back while Chris Thompson will be the passing-down and hurry-up back. Both should be rostered in most leagues.

Washington RB Derrius Guice is in Florida today to meet with Dr. James Andrews and get a second opinion on his torn meniscus, per sources. In the likely event that Guice decides to undergo surgery, he would be expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks.

Fantasy Impact: 

Adrian Peterson becomes the starter in Derrius Guice's absence, with Chris Thompson getting most of the passing work out of the backfield. Both backs are ranked next to each other in this week's 4for4 rankings, with Peterson at RB29, followed by Thompson at RB30.
