Scouting report

by Bill Riccette

NE WR DeVante Parker - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

DeVante Parker returned from a concussion last week, catching three passes for 42 yards. He has reached 50 yards just once this season. That was Week 2. He doesn't have a single touchdown. And we don't even know who's throwing him the football this week. Does it matter though? Neither Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe are any good. Parker remains on the bench this week.

MIA WR DeVante Parker - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tennessee Titans

DeVante Parker played on 71% of the offensive snaps last week, but somehow didn't manage to get even a single target. It's an unfortunate performance, especially in the fantasy playoffs, but we wouldn't view it as a sign of anything other than just a bad game. Parker should be back to his usual production of 3-4 receptions for 60-70 yards with a chance of a touchdown this week. He'll draw a favorable matchup vs. the Titans who have given up the 2nd-most average fantasy points to opposing receivers. Parker should be viewed as a strong WR3 play heading into Week 17.

MIA WR DeVante Parker - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New Orleans Saints

DeVante Parker played well last week, finishing 4-68-1 on eight targets. Parker had the benefit of Jaylen Waddle not playing, but it was still a pretty typical Parker stat line. Parker's been great this year when he's active, averaging a pretty consistent 4.9 receptions for 65.3 yards per game. That's essentially what we're projecting for Parker this week against the Saints. It's a pretty favorable matchup as New Orleans has given up the 11th-most receptions and fourth-most receiving yards to wide receivers this year. Parker will be a high-end WR3 play in Week 16.

MIA WR DeVante Parker - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New York Jets

DeVante Parker has had an odd season. He played the first four games before getting hurt, then made one appearance in Week 8 before another injury, and then came back in Week 13 ahead of the Dolphins' bye. He's now off of the team's injury report, and has a chance for a really productive week. Jaylen Waddle has been placed on the team's COVID list, and Miami has a favorable matchup vs. the Jets this week. Parker has played well this season when he's been active, averaging 5.0 receptions for 64.8 yards. Parker should be viewed as a strong WR2 play in Week 15 vs. the Jets.

MIA WR DeVante Parker - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New York Giants

DeVante Parker returned to practice this week (hamstring), so there's a chance he makes a return to the Dolphins. Parker played the first four games of the season, then returned in Week 8 before missing games again. If he does return, he'll draw a tough matchup against the Giants. We don't anticipate Parker having a huge game if he's active in Week 13, especially with Jaylen Waddle playing so well. Parker should be viewed as a lower-end WR3 in Week 13, assuming he's healthy enough to play.

MIA WR DeVante Parker - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Houston Texans

DeVante Parker returned from injury last week, finishing 8-85 on 11 targets. But he suffered a setback in practice this week, according to coach Brian Flores and is going to be listed as doubtful for Week 9 vs. the Texans. As a result, we'd be surprised if he ended up playing. And even if he did, he'd likely be on a snap count. Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki will benefit from Parker's absence.

MIA WR DeVante Parker - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Atlanta Falcons

DeVante Parker should return from injury this week as he's missed the last two games. Parker is still listed on the injury report with a shoulder/hamstring injury, though, and has been limited in practice. If he does return, he'll get a favorable matchup against the Faclson who are 24th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Parker has been decent in the games he's played, finishing with at least 40 yards in every game while averaging about 60. If he's healthy enough to play, Parker can be viewed as a solid WR3 play in Week 7.
