Scouting report

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Houston
The Bills still love their running back combination, but Devin Singletary seems to be 1B to Zack Moss' 1A. Singletary had 12 touches for only 26 yards. After scoring a touchdown, Week 1, he has been held out of the end zone while Moss has scored three times.

It's a neutral matchup this week against Houston who is ranked 12th in aFPA to running backs. We expect more of the same for Singletary in touches. He should be able to get more yardage than last week.

Singletary is a borderline RB3/Flex for Week 4. Moss seems to be the fantasy stat guy at running back for Buffalo although Singletary still has value.

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Washington
Devin Singletary is off to a surprising start. Even though he is averaging only 12 rushes per game, he has averaged 6.4 yards per carry for 154 rushing yards. He also had a 46-yard TD run. Add five receptions to that mix and his fantasy numbers are solid. Zack Moss returned last week after missing Week 1 and had 8 carries but had two rushing touchdowns. We expect a split like that to be the norm.

Singletary will face a Washington defense ranked 7th in aFPA to running backs last year. The production will probably not continue at this level and he has to face a very good run defense for Week 3.

If you need a running back, Singletary only rates a low-end RB3 or flex in deep leagues. The touches won't be there and that will eventually limit his production.

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Miami
As of right now, Zach Moss is still out for Buffalo which means Devin Singletary will be the primary ball carrier again. Singletary's numbers were quality but he only had 14 touches. It did produce 80 total yards, but most of that yardage came on two long runs when Pittsburgh was in a prevent defense. The Bills were very pass-happy with 51 attempts while he only rushed the ball 11 times.

Singletary will face the Dolphins which have a quality run defense. They did give up 125 rushing yards last week including a 100-yard rusher, but that's what the Patriots like to do.

Since he will get most of the touches at running back, Singletary does have fantasy value. Start him as a high-end RB3 or flex for Week 2 and expect even more production in the passing game which upgrades his value in PPR leagues.

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Pittsburgh
Devin Singletary begins his third season as a part of a two-headed running back position in Buffalo. His rushing numbers actually decreased last season from his rookie season, but a lot of that had to do with the arrival of Zach Moss. Singletary did increase his receiving numbers and seems more likely to get those third down plays. However, Moss seemed to get more opportunities inside the 10 and goal-line situations.

Buffalo faces the Steelers who were 4th in aFPA to running backs last season. Pittsburgh does a good job against the run so it should be tough sledding for the Bills' running game.

Keep Singletary on the bench for Week 1 as the matchup and the fact he will split time doesn't push him into an RB3 situation.

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Miami
Devin Singletary had 13 touches last Monday which was the most for him since Week 13. He only produced 52 total yards as he continues to split time with Zach Moss. The Bills are still playing for the No. 2 seed so we expect both running backs to get their normal playing time.

Singletary will face Miami who is ranked seventh in aFPA to running backs. In the first meeting with the 'Fins, Singletary had 59 total yards from scrimmage. The Dolphins will be playing their starters as they try to make the playoffs so it's a tough matchup.

Keep Singletary on the bench for Week 17. Although he should get around 10 touches, the fantasy numbers should remain in check.

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New England
Devin Singletary had 11 touches for 84 yards. He has been more involved in the passing game while Zach Moss has gotten more carries in the running game. They are basically a two-headed monster for Buffalo.

Singletary faces the Patriots who are ranked 27th in aFPA to running backs. In the first meeting, he had 86 rushing yards against New England.

Start Singletary as an RB3 or flex in both standard and PPR leagues. He will get around 10-12 touches and should have some success but splitting time with Moss will hurt his overall fantasy value.

BUF RB Devin Singletary - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Denver
After averaging over 17 touches per game over the past two games, Devin Singletary only had eight touches last Sunday night. We have seen this with the Bills running backs as they seem to go with the hot hand and last week that favored Zack Moss. Singletary was held to 32 total yards from scrimmage.

It's a good matchup this week for the Bills as Denver is ranked 30th in aFPA to running backs. The Broncos have a strong pass defense so that might dictate Buffalo to try to establish a running attack.

Start Singletary as a low-end RB3 or flex for Week 15. He has some value but again the dilemma of who gets the touches still is an issue every week for Buffalo's running backs. He also ranks higher in PPR leagues.
