Scouting report

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Jaguars

Johnson is another one of those receivers where he just needed a clean bill of health and then is he good to go. Double-digit targets in three of his last four games since missing Week 6 and at least six catches, at least 77 yards and three touchdowns in that time frame. Johnson has a great connection with Roethlisberger. He also saw the most snaps among wide receivers in Week 10. The Steelers love Johnson and so should you.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Bengals

Like JuJu Smith-Schuster, Johnson back healthy is a big boost to the Steelers offense. Ten targets for him against the Cowboys. It would be interesting to see how Mason Rudolph would value the receivers if he gets the start, but it’s still looking likely that Big Ben will be under center, boosting all three receivers, including Johnson. All three look like strong WR2 options this week against one of the weakest defenses in Cincinnati.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Cowboys

Johnson is perhaps the third receiver in Pittsburgh, but the way the Steelers are moving on offense, and the way they're utilizing three wide receivers each week. Johnson still has plenty of fantasy upside. We saw that against the Titans in Week 7. It's anyone's guess who will step up each week for the Steelers. But it's saying something when Johnson is the third-highest ranked receiver in fantasy from his own team and still a top-25 option at the position.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Ravens

Johnson is back and made his return in a big way last week in a big win over the Titans with nine catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns. He's healthy again and is a favorite of Roethlisberger. In his three full games, he's seen 38 targets and has three touchdowns. He's just outside WR2 territory for this week.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Titans

Johnson is returning after missing the Browns game with a back injury. He was also limited this season with a concussion. He's back to full practice, but how effective will Johnson be? Pittsburgh has a bit of a conundrum at the receiver position after Claypool. Even James Washington might figure into the mix a bit. Johnson is a bit of a dice-roll, but if the Steelers put him back at punt returner, he gains a bit more value. He's just inside our top 50 receivers for the week.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Eagles

Like JuJu, the early bye also helped Johnson, as he suffered a concussion during the Texans game and also had a toe injury. He hopefully will get back to the level he was at before the concussion, which included 23 targets and 14 catches in the first two games of the season. The emergence of Eric Ebron will also dig a bit into Johnson (and maybe JuJu to an extent). Johnson is our No. 31 WR.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Texans

Interestingly enough, through two games, it's Johnson outperforming JuJu in terms of catches, targets and yards (JuJu has the edge in touchdowns, 2-1). But both receivers are excellent and we have both among our top 16 this week. Johnson is slightly ahead at No. 15. With the way Pittsburgh has been throwing the ball this season, both Johnson and JuJu excellent WR2 options.
