SD WR Dontrelle Inman - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Tampa Bay
Dontrelle Inman had a pretty nice game last week, collecting six catches for 119 yards and a TD on six targets. It was Inman's second TD of the season, but first since Week 4. Inman has seen more catches since Week 7, but not necessarily more snaps. He's played on an average of 90-percent of the snaps this season. For the year he's averaging 3.5 catches a game to go along with just under 48 yards a game, so Inman isn't really a safe play and is ranked just 47th on our list.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Miami
Dontrelle Inman had another productive day last week, making it three weeks in a row. In Week 9, Inman had six catches for 56 yards against the Titans. It follows games with lines of 3-58-0, and 4-72-0 against Atlanta and Denver, respectively.

This week, we bump Inman ahead of Travis Benjamin who is also batting some injury issues (knee). Inman once again saw a big snap percentage, playing on 95-percent last week. This week, he comes in as a WR4 in a good matchup against the Dolphins who are 31st in allowing fantasy points to WRs. Inman certainly comes with some risks but has been productive as of late so he can fill a role in leagues with deeper lineups.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tennessee
Dontrelle Inman cracks our Top-50 this week after a 4-72-0 line last week against Denver. For Inman, he now has seven catches for 130 yards on 13 targets the last two weeks. Inman is still more of a WR4 play, but with two somewhat productive weeks, it's at least time to keep an eye on him. Inman is also playing on an average of 89-percent of the snaps, which includes a season-high 97.53 percent last week.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
A player to keep an eye on in 2016 is Dontrelle Inman. As the team's official website notes, the former CFL standout more than tripled his production from 2014 to 2015. His 13.9 yards per catch average in 2015 was the highest on the team and 29th-highest in the NFL among players with at least 35 catches. With Stevie Johnson suffering a season-ending knee injury, there's room to move up the depth chart.

Fantasy Downside
Inman will still be behind Keenan Allen, Travis Benjamin, tight end Antonio Gates and running back Danny Woodhead in the pecking order -- even if he can secure a spot ahead of promising youngster Tyrell Williams and veteran free agent James Jones.

2016 Bottom Line
Inman isn't worth your attention in redraft leagues at this point in time. However, he's worth watching a potential waiver-wire play or DFS value if he can carve out a consistent role as the season progresses.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dontrelle Inman caught eight passes for 82 yards and a TD last week against the Raiders. Inman has been pretty consistent since the team's bye in Week 10 as the Chargers have been hurt by injuries at the WR position. Inman's clunker came in Week 13 against, ironically, the Broncos when he posted a 1-15-0 line. So, Inman is way down our list this week at 42nd as the Bolts take on the Broncos. Denver is third in allowing fantasy points to WRs so this isn't a great matchup for owners. Inman could be a name to keep an eye on next year as he could step into the team's WR2 role across from Keenan Allen, allowing Steive Johnson to stay in the slot.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Oakland

Dontrelle Inman caught three balls for 78 yards last week on five targets. Those results likely left owners a little disappointed since Philip Rivers went off for three TDs and over 300 yards last week. Fact is, Inman's had more targets in other weeks when the Chargers were much healthier at the position.

This week, Inman comes in as a WR4 against the Raiders who are 12th in allowing fantasy points to WRs. This isn't a great road matchup for the Bolts and their WRs so Inman is really only safe in deeper leagues. Stevie Johnson was back at practice but on a short week isn't a lock to play. Inman's value take a hit if Johnson suits up though.

SD WR Dontrelle Inman - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs Kansas City
As the injuries pile up in the Chargers WR corps, Dontrelle Inman is, by default, the team's WR2 heading into Week 11. But, Inman was in a similar role when we last saw the Chargers in Week 9 and he only produced three catches for 28 yards on five targets. Even in a very good matchup this week against the Chiefs, who are 32nd in allowing fantasy points to WRs, Inman is ranked more as a lower-end WR4, so he comes with lots of risks despite a very good matchup.
