The Saints are saying it will be a game-time decision, but it’s looking like RB Reggie Bush will miss an eighth straight game and also an opportunity to play against his former USC coach Pete Carroll. Defensively, the Seahawks likely will try to pressure Saints quarterback Drew Brees into some mistakes. Brees has 18 TD passes on the season, but he also has thrown 12 picks. But Brees has been more consistent in his last two games and Seattle is allowing 272.2 yards a game, while the Saints are fifth in passing with 276.2 yards per game. Saints TE Jeremy Shockey is also out, but New Orleans has two decent backups at the position.

Saints QB Drew Brees and coach Sean Payton certainly see more in TE Jimmy Graham's future, mainly because of his size, speed and quickness. Graham, who is a tall target like teammate Jeremy Shockey, another former Miami player, has 4.55 speed in the 40 to go with soft hands.

Two of Graham’s three catches Sunday were made with cornerbacks covering him, a definite mismatch in the eyes of Brees and Payton.

“You’re excited to watch a guy like that and to have him be on your team,” Brees said. “I see the opportunities for him continuing to expand as we move forward, and hopefully, he just continues to grasp it at the pace that he has.”

There is no question that Saints QB Drew Brees suffered an MCL strain in September, but he’s no longer wearing a brace to protect the left knee. He says that persistent reports that he may need microfracture surgery at the end of the season are ridiculous. Brees was impressive against the Steelers, and the Panthers will have their hands full with Marques Colston (46 catches) and Lance Moore, who leads the team with five TD catches. Saints RB Chris Ivory suffered a mild concussion against the Steelers, but he’s been a pleasant surprise with 332 yards rushing and a 5.0 average. The only knock on Ivory is that he’s not a natural receiver out of the backfield like Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas.

According to sources, DeAngelo Williams will not play this week against the Saints but hopes to get back the following week.

Fantasy Impact: 

Jonathan Stewart would get the start again, this week against the Saints at home. It's a tough matchup in that if Carolina doesn't keep Drew Brees and the Saints off the field on offense, it may be hard to get the running game going.
