NO QB Drew Brees - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Panthers

Brees was hardly needed in Week 16 as Alvin Kamara played Santa Claus on Christmas Day. Even still, Brees hit 300 yards for the first time since Week 5. Now he'll try to throw New Orleans into the No. 1 seed in the NFC against a game Panthers squad that has not backed down from anyone this season, including quieting Green Bay's offense in Week 15. Brees had 287 yards and two touchdowns against Carolina in Week 7 and is our No. 14 quarterback this week.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Vikings

Brees came back from his rib and lung injury and nearly came back into form as the Saints nearly knocked off the Chiefs in Week 15. Three touchdowns and an interception for his first multi-touchdown game since Week 9. Brees looks like he is all systems go now heading into Christmas Day. The Vikings have been pretty stout against the pass. They've allowed just four passing touchdowns in the last three weeks. On the flip side, two of those weeks have been against Mitchell Trubisky (who, in fairness, has been playing better of late) and Mike Glennon. It's not the easiest of matchups and Brees now won't have Michael Thomas and may also be without Tre'Quan Smith. Brees is our No. 13 quarterback this week.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Chiefs

In a surprising piece of news, the Saints now feel comfortable enough with the health of Brees that he will now start for the Saints in Week 15 against the Chiefs. This is a major boost to the offense. For as much as Taysom Hill has been improving as a thrower, the offense is just that much better with Brees and should make for some fireworks in this marquee matchup in New Orleans. Brees does come in a bit lower on the rankings than Hill did due to Hill being better running the football and having more opportunities at a rushing touchdown than Brees. And you know Sean Payton won’t keep Hill on the sidelines all game long. He’ll make his appearances. Brees is currently our No. 14 quarterback for the week.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs 49ers

It's the big rematch that lost some luster thanks to the 49ers' injuries. But it's a matchup Brees' owners have to feel pretty good about. Brees is coming off a season-high four touchdown passes against the Buccaneers. And as we all remember, Brees threw five touchdowns in the shootout last season against the 49ers. Having his full arsenal back is big for Brees. He comes in at No. 8 among QBs this week.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Buccaneers

It's the big rematch in the NFC South between the Saints and Buccaneers. In Week 1, Brees only threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns but still led the Saints to victory at home. This time, it's in Tampa, a place where Brees threw three touchdowns in 2019. One of those was to Michael Thomas, who is expected to be back this week. Brees will need him in what should be an exciting Sunday night game (and hopefully much better than what we were subjected to in Week 8).

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Bears

The numbers, in general, haven't been horrible for Brees, but he's hit 300 yards just twice in six games and has been a middle-of-the-pack quarterback (15th thus far in points per game). But Brees may finally be getting Michael Thomas back in Week 8, which should boost the Saints offense, certainly needed against our fourth-toughest schedule-adjusted matchup against quarterbacks in the Chicago Bears.

NO QB Drew Brees - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Panthers

Brees is coming off a bye week after helping lead the Saints to a strong comeback victory in Week 5 against the Chargers. He comes out of the bye against a team he had a lot of success against in 2019, the Carolina Panthers. Brees tossed six touchdown passes and just one interception in the two meetings last season. However, Carolina is actually our No. 1 toughest matchup this week against opposing quarterbacks. Carolina has done well pressuring the quarterback and their secondary has played much better than expected, though Juston Burris is now on injured reserve. Brees is our No. 14 QB this week but still worthy of a start.
